Find fellow victims on Social Media

If a company has abused or otherwise victimized you in some way, there’s a very good chance they’ve done it to others, as well. You might consider searching on various social media sites to find groups and pages for similar victims. Therefore, before you create any new groups or pages, check to see what’s already out there.

Facebook – because Facebook is generally associated with a relatively older (Boomer/GenX/Millennial) user audience, this is precisely why it is one of the better places to start looking for fellow victims. Go to your Facebook Groups feed and search for the company’s name along with words like “scam”, “victim”, “abuse”, etc.

Reddit – in addition to being associated with a slightly younger user audience than Facebook, Reddit also contains a lot of expert, technical users, many of whom can also help you fix problems with equipment in addition to validating your story. Similar to Facebook, click in the Search Reddit box at the top-middle of the homepage, and use the same search formula as Facebook (combine the company name with words like “scam”, etc.).

Organize fellow victims on Social Media

We have a full guide in the works on this topic, which will cover the following:

Finding fellow victims and engaging with them regarding the cause on your own

Generally the best first action is to search through, and post (tastefully) in, related groups to find those sympathetic to your cause – something we will cover in-depth in our guide.

Finding Fellow Victims by running ads on and off Social Media

Once you have a “ground base” in the form of a website and social media pages, for as little as $10/month you can extend your reach to even more victims through ads, which we will teach you to create on your own.

Using memes to continue gaining followers and keep the pressure on the company

Do not underestimate the power of a good meme to really turn the heat up. We will teach you what it takes to create great memes – quickly and easiliy!

Team up with other victims in your area to launch a contact campaign to a local investigative news reporter

If you haven’t already, consider joining one or more of the Social Media groups you found in the prior steps and making a post looking for others in your local area.

Once you have identified two or three people, total, coordinate a day and time to all call AND e-mail the consumer helpline at a local news station.

If you are unsure of who you might contact, try a Google search that includes the name of the closest big city to you (big enough to have local news stations located there), the word “news”, and “investigative reporter”. For instance, if you lived near Detroit, try googling Detroit news investigative reporter and see who you find.

Pick the name from the list you think is most likely to help you, set a date and time to call and e-mail, and make sure everyone actually does it; if you don’t hear back within a week, move on to the next reporter/station and try again.
