Ever hit a dead-end when attempting to get in touch with someone with some actual power at a company? Perhaps, hypothetically speaking, you’re looking to get in touch with a company’s compliance officer or committee so as to inform them you intend to invoke the FTC’s Holder in Due Course rule to nullify your indebtedness for a fraudulent product this company financed on your behalf.
Well, I just found a new use case for LinkedIn Premium: using LinkedIn InMail to contact Executives and Board Members and companies with inadequate customer service channels.
I will be including a more in-depth guide, soon, as part of the impending Social Media Guide, but for now the basic idea is as follows:
- Sign-up for LinkedIn Premium.
- Search online for the name of the company plus “executive leadership board committee” (or some combination thereof).
- Locate the executive leadership profile page for the company and look for the members responsible for the area of the business pertaining to your issue (to continue our hypothetical example, the compliance officer or compliance/audit committee).
- Generally such pages will include a biography of each member: cross-referencing this biography, search for their name on LinkedIn and identify the correct person with that name.
- Use your LinkedIn InMail credits to send them a succinct message stating your issue and your desired resolution.
You might be surprised how fast you see action when these folks are bothered on their social media channels. Try it out for yourself!
